Arizona Motorcycle Shipping

Arizona bike traffic comes in waves, with riders sending motorcycles to Phoenix and Tucson every fall and pulling them back out every spring. We provide up to ten free quotes from our network of licensed, insured carriers, which saves you time and money. Outside of those waves the state is quiet, so the best time to book is not always the obvious one, and carriers will tell you so if you ask. If you need to ship a motorcycle to or from Arizona, the date matters almost as much as the distance. Arizona motorcycle shipping mostly runs on I-10 across the south and I-17 up to Flagstaff. The numbers below are estimates, not offers. To see real ones, fill out the quote form up top or call 1-800-590-6492 any time of day.

Ship a Motorcycle to Arizona for the Warm Season

Most of the bikes headed here are not staying forever. Owners from colder states send a motorcycle to a house in Mesa, Scottsdale or Tucson for the winter and ship it home in April. Minneapolis to Phoenix is about 1,590 miles, $625 to $875 on an open trailer, 4 to 8 days on the road. Chicago to Phoenix is around 1,750 miles at $650 to $925, same 4 to 8 days.

Book earlier than feels necessary. Trailers pointed at Phoenix can fill up in October and November, and a late booker ends up paying whatever is left while the pickup dates get thinner. A flexible window of a week or so tends to bring better quotes than a fixed day.

If your address is in a gated community, a gate code, a guard shack or an HOA rule about trucks can stop a full trailer at the entrance, so call the community before the driver does. If a rig cannot enter, the driver will meet you at a nearby shopping center or a wide street.

Out of the Midwest, Minnesota to Arizona and Illinois to Arizona are the lanes to price first, and the Phoenix page covers the Valley in more detail.

Arizona Motorcycle Shipping Rates and Transit Times

Last updated: October 2026

The short California hop is the cheapest big lane. Los Angeles to Phoenix is about $350 to $500 on an open trailer. At 1,500 miles, think $600 to $850, and at 2,000 miles about $725 to $1,000. Distance does most of the work, and per-mile cost falls as the trip grows.

Going enclosed adds 30% to 50%. Add $150 to $400 for a crate, $150 to $300 for a trike or sidecar, and $50 to $100 for a heavy tourer. The table shows lanes Arizona riders actually book. It assumes an open trailer and a standard bike, counts days from pickup and leaves out the one to three days it takes to schedule.

How Getting Quotes Works

You don't have to call company after company. One request goes out to the carriers that run Arizona lanes, and the offers come back to you.

1. Send one request

Fill out the quote form at the top of this page, or call 1-800-590-6492 any hour of the day. Give us your pickup and delivery cities, the year, make and model of your bike, and the date you want it picked up.

2. Carriers respond

We pass your request to carriers that move motorcycles in and out of Arizona. You can receive up to ten free quotes without spending hours calling companies one by one.

3. Compare the offers

Look at price, pickup date, and whether the carrier offers open or enclosed transport. You can check any company you're considering on the FMCSA SAFER system.

4. Choose your company

You pick the company you want to work with. Ask that company about its insurance coverage, deposit, and payment terms before you commit.

Shipping a Motorcycle From Arizona in the Spring

April is the month everyone wants a bike out. Snowbirds head north when the heat starts. Late fall and winter are different, with fewer people leaving.

Phoenix to Los Angeles is only about 370 miles, $350 to $500 open, 1 to 3 days. Phoenix to Seattle is around 1,415 miles, $575 to $800, 3 to 6 days. Tucson to Dallas, about 955 miles, runs $475 to $675 and 2 to 5 days.

Short trips inside the state rarely make sense for a carrier, but Phoenix to Tucson is about 115 miles at $300 to $425 if you are moving house. Going on to the Pacific coast? See Arizona to California. Heading to Sturgis? You can ship from Phoenix and ride home.

Arizona Motorcycle Transport from Yuma to Flagstaff

I-10 does the heavy lifting. It covers about 392 miles in the state, from Ehrenberg on the California line through Quartzsite, Phoenix and Tucson to the New Mexico border near San Simon. Phoenix and Tucson are the two big stops along it, so most trailers load or drop there before going on.

I-17 is the other one that matters. It runs 146 miles from the I-10 interchange in Phoenix to Flagstaff and climbs from about 1,117 feet to 7,000 feet along the way. A bike delivered to Flagstaff meets weather the Valley never sees, and a winter trailer can leave sunshine in Phoenix and hit snow on the same road.

Northwest Arizona has its own pocket. I-15 briefly cuts through the corner near the Virgin River Gorge on its way between Las Vegas and St. George, Utah. Kingman sits on I-40, but a pickup that far from the Valley can mean a longer wait than one in Phoenix.

Down in the southwest, I-8 runs from Yuma toward San Diego and meets I-10 near Casa Grande, and bikes for the Yuma area often ride with California loads. Yuma pickups are the ones to ask about early.

Motorcycle Shipping to Arizona by Season

Two calendars matter. The first is demand: snowbird season runs roughly October to April. The second is weather. The National Weather Service counts the monsoon as June 15 through September 30, and the thunderstorms tend to hit in the afternoon and evening. They can slow a driver at the edge of the Valley, but a delay rarely runs past a day.

Flagstaff and the high country behave differently. Snow on I-17 and I-40 in winter can add a day or two, so a December delivery to the north should be planned with slack. Bikes headed for Phoenix, Tucson or Yuma can mostly ignore it.

Fall and winter prices are often lower outside snowbird lanes, but Arizona sits right on the snowbird lanes, so don't count on that break from October to April. Peak weeks usually cost more.

Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale

Arizona Bike Week is held in April at WestWorld of Scottsdale. The 2026 edition was the 29th, with nightly concerts, a vendor marketplace, daily stunt shows, bike shows and a used bike corral. Trailers heading to the Valley that week fill early, and the Phoenix lanes get tighter.

April is also when many snowbird owners ship their bikes home, so the week lands on top of the spring exodus. Give carriers a pickup window and get quotes a few weeks ahead. Rally weeks push prices above the usual level.

If you are shipping a bike in from the Midwest or the West Coast for the event, plan the pickup for the week before and not the week of. A late truck can cost you the first nights, and that is when most of the concerts run.

If the bike is coming to the Valley for the week and heading home right after, ask each carrier about a return pickup too, and whether it will quote both legs together.

Military Moves Through Arizona

Luke Air Force Base outside Phoenix, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Fort Huachuca near Sierra Vista and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma all move people on orders. Request quotes when your report date arrives, and ask each carrier if it takes anything off for military or for a second bike. Not all do.

Arizona Shipping Problems and Fixes

Timing, gates and altitude cause most of the trouble.

The October Rush

Snowbird bikes arrive all at once, and carriers have fewer open slots. Waiting until the last week can cost more and give you a worse date.

Gated Communities

If your neighborhood has a guard, a gate code or rules about large trucks, a trailer that cannot get in means a meet-up outside.

Flagstaff Weather

I-17 climbs nearly 6,000 feet from Phoenix. A snowstorm up top can hold a driver for a day while the Valley is sunny.

Tip: Book the Return Early

If you are shipping a bike down for winter, ask for April pickup quotes at the same time. Locking in both trips makes planning simpler.

Tip: Call the Community

Ask the gate or HOA office what size truck can enter. Pass that on to the carrier so the driver knows where to meet you.

Tip: Get Photos First

Photograph every side of the bike with the date, and take off loose gear. The prep guide has the full list.

Arizona Motorcycle Shipping FAQs

How much does it cost to ship a motorcycle to Arizona?

Los Angeles to Phoenix runs about $350 to $500 on an open trailer. Minneapolis to Phoenix is about $625 to $875, and Chicago to Phoenix about $650 to $925. Enclosed adds roughly 40%. Season and rally weeks change the number.

When should I ship a bike to Arizona for the winter?

Book in September or early October. Snowbird season picks up in the fall, and early bookings give carriers time to line up a trailer. A flexible window usually helps the quote.

How long does it take from the Midwest?

Chicago to Phoenix is about 1,750 miles and takes 4 to 8 days on the road. Allow one to three more days for scheduling the pickup.

Can a truck get into my gated community?

Not always. Some communities limit large vehicles. Ask the gate office before pickup, and be ready to meet the driver at a nearby lot if the trailer cannot enter.

Is it cheaper to ship out of Arizona in spring?

Don't count on it. April is when most snowbirds head home, so northbound lanes are busy. It depends on the lane and the date, so compare quotes for a few different pickup windows.

Can I ship a bike to Arizona Bike Week?

Yes. It is held in April at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Carriers fill early for that week, so ask three weeks ahead and give a range of dates.

Does monsoon weather delay shipments?

Monsoon thunderstorms, which the National Weather Service dates from June 15 to September 30, tend to hit in the afternoon and evening. They can slow a driver, but delays are usually short. Plan on an extra day if you ship in summer.

Does someone need to be at the pickup?

Yes. You or a person you name signs the inspection sheet at both ends. Check the bike over before signing, and keep your photos.
