Arizona to Florida Motorcycle Shipping Rates by Bike Type

A standard cruiser or sport bike from Phoenix to Orlando runs about $750 to $1,025 on an open carrier, and about $1,050 to $1,425 enclosed. Jacksonville is the shortest haul at about $725 to $1,000 open. Miami costs more, near $800 to $1,100, because of the extra miles down the peninsula.

A long run across the South puts a lot of miles on a bike.

At more than 2,000 miles this is a long-distance move, and long hauls cost less per mile than short ones. Most of the trip is a straight run down I-10, one of the busiest truck corridors in the South, so carriers can fill trailers with other freight heading the same direction. Compare the pickup date as well as the price.

Bike type nudges the price. A tourer often adds $50 to $100, a trike or sidecar adds $150 to $300, and a non-running bike needs a winch.

Timing affects the price. Arizona and Florida are both winter destinations, so from October through March trucks in both directions fill up faster. Daytona Bike Week in March and Biketoberfest in October pull more bikes into Florida, and carriers book those weeks early. For savings on any lane, see our money-saving tips.

One Highway From Arizona to Florida

Interstate 10 starts in Santa Monica and ends in Jacksonville, so a driver leaving Phoenix or Tucson can set the cruise control and spend nearly the whole trip on one road. It crosses southern New Mexico to El Paso, then runs across Texas for about 880 miles, much of it open desert, before reaching San Antonio and Houston. The road continues through Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama into the Florida Panhandle.

Fly into Orlando and pick up the bike when it arrives.

In Florida the choices open up. I-10 runs on past Pensacola and Tallahassee. A truck bound for Jacksonville stays on it. A truck bound for Tampa or Orlando turns south on I-75. Miami loads can take I-75 or Florida's Turnpike, a toll road that carriers include in the quote.

A Tucson pickup starts about 115 miles closer to Florida than a Phoenix one, since the two cities are about 115 miles apart on I-10, and the table shows that in the mileage. A bike in Flagstaff has to come back down I-17 to reach the same highway.

The Keys are their own thing. The Overseas Highway, US 1, covers more than 100 miles from the mainland to Key West, and much of it has only two lanes. For a bike headed to Marathon, Islamorada or Key West, ask each carrier whether it delivers all the way or hands off on the mainland.

How Your Motorcycle Is Loaded and Secured for the Trip

A bike set on a crate base. Crating is a choice on this lane and adds roughly $150 to $400.

A good driver loads a motorcycle upright. The front wheel goes into a chock so it can't move, and soft straps go around solid points like the frame or the lower triple clamp. The straps are tightened enough to hold the bike but not so much that they bottom out the forks. Hooks stay off your bars, levers and paint.

Enclosed trailers add a roof and walls, and they matter more on a 2,000-mile run through desert sun and Gulf storms. Many owners of custom paint and vintage bikes choose them for that reason. At pickup, read the condition report in front of the driver and shoot dated photos from every side. Save both for the moment the bike arrives in Florida.

Arizona to Florida Motorcycle Shipping Challenges & Tips

Florida has more seasonal quirks than most states. Plan around these before you book.

Hurricane Season

Hurricane season lasts from June 1 through November 30, with the most activity from late August through September. A storm can halt loading and clog the highways, and a pickup may slip by days, so keep your dates flexible from August through October.

Gated Communities and Condos

Some Florida complexes ban large trucks, and some Arizona neighborhoods do too. The driver may ask you to meet at a retail parking lot so you can ride or push the bike the last stretch.

West Texas and the Gulf

I-10 across Texas covers about 880 miles with few detours, and the Gulf stretch adds long bridges and busy cities. A breakdown or a wreck can cost a day.

Tip: Book Early for Daytona Weeks

For Daytona Bike Week in March or Biketoberfest in October, book three weeks ahead if you can. Many riders choose Orlando or Jacksonville as the delivery point and ride the rest, because Daytona itself is packed.

Tip: Plan for Snowbird Season

Southbound demand starts rising in September, stays high in October and peaks in November, so space into the state is tight. Northbound demand peaks in March and stays high in April, which is also when Arizona owners ship bikes out.

Tip: Prepare Your Motorcycle

Clean the bike, pull off soft luggage and electronics, and keep the tank at about a quarter. Switch the alarm off, take dated photos from every angle, and note any leaks. Summer is Florida's rainy season, so a cover that fits well is worth the small effort once the bike arrives. The full prep checklist is in our transport guide.

Arizona to Florida Motorcycle Shipping Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to ship a motorcycle from Arizona to Florida?

Most Arizona to Florida shipments take 6-9 days once the bike is on the truck. Jacksonville is at the short end, and Miami at the long end. Add a few days for pickup scheduling, and allow about two weeks from booking to delivery.

How much does it cost to ship a motorcycle to Florida from Arizona?

A standard cruiser or sport bike from Phoenix to Orlando runs about $750 to $1,025 on an open carrier and about $1,050 to $1,425 enclosed. Jacksonville is near $725 to $1,000 and Miami near $800 to $1,100 open. Real prices depend on your bike, dates and cities.

Is open or enclosed transport better for this route?

Open is the standard choice and carries most bikes without trouble. Enclosed fits fresh paint, a classic, a high-value bike or hurricane season. The extra cost is roughly $300 to $400.

Can I ship a motorcycle to a Florida rally on a specific date?

Yes. Book two to three weeks ahead of Daytona Bike Week or Biketoberfest. A carrier who already has your pickup scheduled can fit it into the route much more easily.

Which Florida cities do carriers deliver to?

Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville see the most bikes. Fort Lauderdale, Tallahassee and Pensacola are served too. Keys and gated-community addresses may need a meeting point on the mainland or at a nearby lot.

How should I prepare my motorcycle for shipping from Arizona?

Wash the bike, remove saddlebags and mounts, and keep the fuel near a quarter tank. Photograph it from every side with the date, and report leaks or a non-runner.

Should I ride my motorcycle from Arizona to Florida or ship it?

The ride is about 2,145 miles from Phoenix to Orlando, which most riders cover in four or five long days. That is a lot of fuel, hotel nights and tire wear. If you only need the bike in Florida, shipping it and flying is often easier.

Do I need to crate my motorcycle for this trip?

Rarely. Bikes reach Florida strapped on open trailers or loaded in enclosed ones. A crate costs roughly $150 to $400, so save it for show bikes. Raise it when you get quotes.

Is door-to-door motorcycle delivery available from Arizona to Florida?

In most cases, yes. Arizona pickups are usually simple. In Florida, a condo or gated community may bar a full-size truck, and the driver will ask for a lot nearby.

Can I call for a quote at any hour?

Yes, whenever you like. Someone is on 1-800-590-6492 around the clock, and the form can bring back up to ten quotes.
