Arizona to Washington Motorcycle Shipping Rates by Bike Type
A standard cruiser or sport bike from Phoenix to Seattle costs about $575 to $825 on an open carrier, or about $800 to $1,150 enclosed. From Tucson the open range is near $600 to $850. Spokane, on the dry east side, comes to about $575 to $800 open.
Distance sets most of the price. The Puget Sound area gets heavy freight traffic, so Seattle, Tacoma and Everett are easy to book, while a bike headed over the mountains may wait for a driver with room.
Full-size touring models generally run $50 to $100 above the base price. A sidecar or third wheel changes how the bike loads, and that adds roughly $150 to $300. Report a non-starting bike in your request, because loading it is different.
Season matters. Spring and summer fill trailers for the Northwest, and winter snow in the Cascades can close the mountain passes. A flexible pickup date often brings a lower offer. Before you book, read our money-saving tips.

Two Washingtons Split by the Cascades
West of the Cascades, I-5 is the spine. It runs from Vancouver on the Oregon line through Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle and Everett to Bellingham, and nearly every bike delivered to the west side comes off that one road. Seattle itself has hills, one-way streets and long rush hours, so drivers prefer a lot in Kent, Tukwila or Everett to a downtown block.
The mountains are the divider. I-90 crosses Snoqualmie Pass at about 3,000 feet, and US 2 crosses Stevens Pass. Snow and avalanche control close both for hours at a time in winter, and trucks may be required to chain up, which can slow a bike headed to the other side.
East of the mountains the climate is dry, the roads are wide and the towns are spread out. Spokane, the Tri-Cities and Yakima are served by I-90 and I-82, and a driver can usually reach an address in any of them. Spokane is about 280 miles from Seattle, so a bike for the east often comes by a separate route.
The Puget Sound islands and the Olympic Peninsula add a wrinkle. Washington State Ferries run to Bainbridge, Whidbey and other islands, and a driver will rarely take a trailer aboard, so the usual plan is to meet at the ferry terminal on the mainland side.
How Quotes Work When You Ship a Motorcycle to Washington
You don't have to call company after company. One request goes out to the carriers that run this route, and the offers come back to you.
1. Send one request
Fill out the quote form at the top of this page, or call 1-800-590-6492 any hour of the day. Give us your pickup and delivery cities, the year, make and model of your bike, and the date you want it picked up.
2. Carriers respond
We pass your request to carriers that run the Arizona to Washington route. You can receive up to ten free quotes without calling them one at a time.
3. Compare the offers
Look at price, pickup date, and whether the carrier offers open or enclosed transport. You can look up any company you're considering on the FMCSA SAFER system.
4. Choose your company
You pick the company you want to work with. Ask that company about its insurance coverage, deposit, and payment terms before you commit.
How Your Motorcycle Is Loaded and Secured for the Trip
A good driver loads a motorcycle upright. The front wheel goes into a chock so it can't move, and soft straps go around solid points like the frame or the lower triple clamp. The straps are tightened enough to hold the bike but not so much that they bottom out the forks. Hooks stay off your bars, levers and paint.
Enclosed trailers add a roof and walls, and a trip north passes through desert sun and Northwest rain. Owners of custom paint and vintage bikes often pick enclosed for exactly that reason. Make sure the report matches the bike at pickup, then snap your own photos with the date showing. Save the report and the photos until the bike is safely in Washington.
Arizona to Washington Motorcycle Shipping Challenges & Tips
Washington deliveries depend on the mountains and the water. Keep these three in mind.
Cascade Pass Closures
Snow can shut Snoqualmie and Stevens Pass for hours, so a winter delivery to the east side may slip a day.
Seattle Traffic and Hills
Steep streets and heavy traffic make downtown Seattle hard for a trailer, so expect to meet at a lot outside the core.
Ferries and Islands
Island addresses need a handoff at the mainland terminal, since a trailer rarely boards a ferry.
Tip: Heading to the Olympic Peninsula?
Port Angeles, Forks and the Hoh Rainforest are a long drive from the interstate. Carriers normally stop in Tacoma, Olympia or Port Townsend. Ask early and name the meeting point before booking.
Tip: Moving to Joint Base Lewis-McChord or Fairchild?
Joint Base Lewis-McChord is south of Tacoma, and Fairchild Air Force Base is near Spokane. Naval Base Kitsap is across Puget Sound. Name the base when you request quotes, and ask each carrier about a military discount.
Tip: Prepare Your Motorcycle
Clean the bike, strip off bags and phone holders, and hold the fuel at about a quarter. Turn the alarm off, take dated photos of every side, and record any leaks. Rain is common in western Washington, so dry the bike off and cover loose parts before the driver comes. Our transport prep guide lists each step in order.
Arizona to Washington Motorcycle Shipping Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to ship a motorcycle from Arizona to Washington?
Most Arizona to Washington shipments take 3-6 days once the bike is loaded. Count on one to two weeks from order to delivery once the pickup wait is included.
How much does it cost to ship a motorcycle to Washington from Arizona?
A standard cruiser or sport bike from Phoenix to Seattle runs about $575 to $825 open and about $800 to $1,150 enclosed. Your bike, dates and cities set the final price.
Is open or enclosed transport better for this route?
Open is standard and fine for most riders. Enclosed adds a roof and walls against rain, which is common west of the Cascades. The extra cost is roughly $225 to $325.
Where in Washington do carriers deliver?
Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Vancouver and Everett see the most bikes. Bellingham, Olympia and the Tri-Cities are served too, sometimes with a wider window.
Can a driver deliver to an island or the Olympic Peninsula?
Rarely to the door. A trailer usually cannot board a ferry, so the handoff happens at a mainland lot or in a larger peninsula town.
How should I prepare my motorcycle for shipping from Arizona?
Rinse the bike, remove loose items and soft bags, and keep a quarter tank. Record dated photos from each angle, and tell the dispatcher about leaks or a non-runner.
Should I ride my motorcycle from Arizona to Washington or ship it?
The ride is about 1,420 miles from Phoenix to Seattle, which most riders cover in three long days. Mountain passes and weather can slow the last part. If you only need the bike in Washington, shipping it and flying deserves a price check.
Do I need to crate my motorcycle for this trip?
Generally no. Carriers haul bikes into Washington every week without crates. If you want one anyway, budget roughly $150 to $400.
Is door-to-door motorcycle delivery available from Arizona to Washington?
Mostly yes. Arizona pickups are straightforward. In Washington, a hillside Seattle street or an island home may be too tight, so expect to meet on a wide road.
Can I call for a quote at any hour?
Yes. Phone 1-800-590-6492 in the middle of the night if you like, or use the form to get up to ten quotes.
