Arizona to Nevada Motorcycle Shipping Rates by Bike Type
A standard cruiser or sport bike from Phoenix to Las Vegas costs about $325 to $475 on an open carrier, or about $450 to $675 enclosed. From Tucson the open range is about $375 to $500. Reno is a very different trip, at about $425 to $600 open.
On a short haul, a few miles change the price more than they do on a long one, because the cost of getting a truck to your door is a bigger share of the total. Las Vegas gets frequent trucks from Phoenix, while Reno depends on carriers working the I-80 corridor.
Bikes in the tourer class add about $50 to $100. A trike or sidecar can push the price up by $150 to $300. A dead bike needs winch loading, and the carrier should know before pickup.
Season matters less here than on a cross-country trip, but summer heat and weekend event traffic in Las Vegas can affect timing. Ask for quotes two or three weeks ahead and leave the pickup window open. Our guide of money-saving tips has other ways to cut the bill.

Crossing the Nevada Desert
Nevada has very little interstate. Only about 124 miles of I-15 touch the southern tip, running from Primm at the California line to Mesquite at the Arizona line, with Las Vegas between them. It links Southern California with Salt Lake City, so carriers pass through every day of the week.
I-80 forms the northern spine, about 410 miles long, and serves Reno and Sparks, Lovelock, Winnemucca, Battle Mountain, Elko, Wells and West Wendover. No interstate links Las Vegas and Reno. The direct way is US-95 north through Tonopah, Hawthorne and Fallon, which meets I-80 toward Reno, and the drive between the two cities is about 445 miles.
Pequop Summit, east of Wells, is the high point of I-80 in Nevada at 6,967 feet. Winter storms have closed parts of it.
If you live in a small town such as Elko, Winnemucca, Pahrump or Ely, the driver may not detour 100 miles for one bike. You may be asked to bring the bike to a larger city or a lot on the highway.

How Your Motorcycle Is Loaded and Secured for the Trip
A good driver loads a motorcycle upright. The front wheel goes into a chock so it can't move, and soft straps go around solid points like the frame or the lower triple clamp. The straps are tightened enough to hold the bike but not so much that they bottom out the forks. Hooks stay off your bars, levers and paint.
Enclosed trailers add a roof and walls, which helps a bike on a trip through desert sun and grit. Owners of custom paint and vintage bikes often pick enclosed for exactly that reason. Before the straps go on, read the report with the driver and take your own pictures. Keep both until the bike is delivered in Nevada.
Arizona to Nevada Motorcycle Shipping Challenges & Tips
Nevada is a short run to Las Vegas, and long distances elsewhere are the catch.
Winter Over the Sierra
Snow on Donner Summit can slow trucks coming from the Bay Area, and Reno can see snow from October through April. A winter pickup in the north should have a few days of cushion.
Long Distances Between Towns
Small-town pickups in Elko, Winnemucca, Pahrump or Ely can mean a 100-mile detour. You will probably meet at a bigger city or a highway lot.
Summer Heat
Highs in Las Vegas average above 100 degrees in July and August, so a morning delivery is easier on the seat and on you.
Tip: Heading to Street Vibrations?
Street Vibrations takes place in the last week of September, in downtown Reno and Virginia City, typically Wednesday through Sunday. Reno books up quickly, so request quotes at least three weeks out.
Tip: Moving to Nellis or Fallon?
Nellis Air Force Base lies on the northeast side of the Las Vegas valley, and Naval Air Station Fallon is east of Reno. Start asking for quotes as soon as you have a report date, and check each carrier for a military or multi-bike discount.
Tip: Prepare Your Motorcycle
Clean the bike, remove soft bags and electronics, and aim for a quarter tank of fuel. Disable the alarm, take dated photos of each side, and write down any leaks. Desert heat is hard on a battery and tires, so check both before pickup. Read the full guide to preparing your motorcycle before the driver comes.
Arizona to Nevada Motorcycle Shipping Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to ship a motorcycle from Arizona to Nevada?
Most Arizona to Nevada shipments take 1-3 days once the bike is on the truck. Pickup scheduling takes a little while, which brings the whole job to one to two weeks.
How much does it cost to ship a motorcycle to Nevada from Arizona?
A standard cruiser or sport bike from Phoenix to Las Vegas runs about $325 to $475 on an open carrier and about $450 to $675 enclosed. Actual prices depend on your bike, dates and cities.
Is open or enclosed transport better for this route?
On a short desert run, open works for nearly every bike. Enclosed is for show bikes and fresh paint that you want to shield from sun and grit. The extra cost is roughly $125 to $200.
Which Nevada cities do carriers deliver to?
Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno and Sparks see the most bikes. Smaller towns are served too, usually with a meeting point in a larger city.
Is it worth shipping a bike just 290 miles?
Sometimes. The ride is easy in cool weather, but desert summer heat is hard on riders and tires, and a one-way ship can beat a ride plus a flight home. Compare both totals.
How should I prepare my motorcycle for shipping from Arizona?
Wash the bike, take off saddlebags and gadgets, and keep roughly a quarter tank. Record dated photos of every side, and let the dispatcher know about leaks or a non-runner.
Should I ride my motorcycle from Arizona to Nevada or ship it?
The ride is about 290 miles from Phoenix to Las Vegas, which most riders cover in one long day. It is a short trip by motorcycle standards, and some riders do it in a day. If you only need the bike in Nevada, shipping it and flying can still be easier, especially in summer heat.
Do I need to crate my motorcycle for this trip?
Not usually. A bike strapped properly makes the short run to Nevada without one. Crating costs roughly $150 to $400 and rarely pays off on a lane this length.
Is door-to-door motorcycle delivery available from Arizona to Nevada?
Yes in nearly all cases. A driver picks up at your Arizona address. In Las Vegas, many gated communities require a gate code ahead of time, so call the office first.
Can I call for a quote at any hour?
Yes, day or night. Phone 1-800-590-6492, or request quotes with the form on this page.
