Ship a Motorcycle to Oklahoma, Where Four Highways Meet
Oklahoma City is the hub. I-40 passes just south of downtown, I-35 runs through the city north and south, and I-44 comes in from Lawton and leaves northeast for Tulsa. I-40 and I-35 meet at the Dallas Junction interchange and run together for about two miles. For a driver, that is the easiest drop in the state.
Tulsa is about 105 miles northeast on I-44, and a carrier may be able to cover both cities on one pass. The Turner Turnpike links the two and carries I-44 the whole way. Past Tulsa, the Will Rogers Turnpike takes I-44 to the Missouri line near Joplin, so Tulsa is the first big Oklahoma stop for bikes coming from the Missouri side.
Lawton is a different case. It is a military town, home to Fort Sill, and it sits on I-44 southwest of Oklahoma City. Carriers know it, but a driver has to plan the extra leg, so name it when you request quotes.
From the south and west, Texas to Oklahoma is the shortest, and California to Oklahoma follows I-40 most of the way. From the Southeast, Georgia to Oklahoma comes in through Arkansas on the same interstate.
Oklahoma Motorcycle Shipping Rates and Transit Times
Last updated: October 2026
Oklahoma lanes are mostly mid-length, and the price bands show it. A standard bike on an open carrier runs about $325 to $450 for a trip of around 250 miles, about $375 to $525 for 500 miles, and about $600 to $850 for 1,500 miles. Longer hauls cost less per mile.
Add roughly 30% to 50% for an enclosed trailer. A crate costs about $150 to $400 more, a trike or sidecar about $150 to $300, and a heavy tourer often $50 to $100. The table covers lanes carriers run through Oklahoma all year. Prices are for a standard bike on open transport, and transit time counts days on the road after pickup, so add one to three days for scheduling.

How Getting Quotes Works
You don't have to call company after company. One request goes out to the carriers that run Oklahoma lanes, and the offers come back to you.
1. Send one request
Fill out the quote form at the top of this page, or call 1-800-590-6492 any hour of the day. Give us your pickup and delivery cities, the year, make and model of your bike, and the date you want it picked up.
2. Carriers respond
We pass your request to carriers that move motorcycles in and out of Oklahoma. You can receive up to ten free quotes without spending hours calling companies one by one.
3. Compare the offers
Look at price, pickup date, and whether the carrier offers open or enclosed transport. You can check any company you're considering on the FMCSA SAFER system.
4. Choose your company
You pick the company you want to work with. Ask that company about its insurance coverage, deposit, and payment terms before you commit.
Shipping a Motorcycle From Oklahoma
Moving a bike out of Oklahoma City is about as simple as it gets, since every major route out of the middle of the country passes within a few miles. Dallas is a few hours south on I-35. Denver is a longer haul to the northwest. Los Angeles is a long run on I-40 that goes straight through Amarillo and Albuquerque.
From Tulsa, the picture changes a little. I-44 heads northeast to Missouri and the Midwest, and Chicago is a long run on I-44 and I-55. A bike going south to Texas has a shorter ride, and one going to Atlanta heads east across Arkansas.
Texas is the closest big market. The Oklahoma to Texas lane, mostly down I-35 to Dallas and Fort Worth, is a short one.
Short hops like Tulsa to Oklahoma City, about 105 miles, are the cheapest in the book but not always the easiest to schedule. A carrier may prefer to pair a short leg with a longer one, so give a window of a few days and you will get more answers.
Oklahoma Motorcycle Transport on I-40, I-35 and Old Route 66
West of Oklahoma City, I-40 replaced most of U.S. Route 66 and still follows it closely. The towns of Sayre, Elk City, Clinton and El Reno sit on business loops of the old road. East of the city, I-44 bypasses Route 66 as a toll road, and State Highway 66 stays open as a free alternative. In all, Route 66 in Oklahoma runs about 375 miles.
I-35 is the north-south spine, from Texas through Norman and Oklahoma City to Kansas. Carriers hauling between Dallas and Wichita use it, which is why the Oklahoma City end of that lane is well served.
A trailer will not take the Talimena Scenic Drive. It follows State Highway 1 for 54 miles from Talihina to Mena, Arkansas, with hill grades of 13% or more. If your address is in the Winding Stair Mountains, expect to meet the driver on a US highway in the valley.
Motorcycle Shipping to Oklahoma by Season
Spring is the season that needs planning. Severe storms and tornadoes are part of life in Oklahoma, mostly from April through June. A storm line can hold a trailer overnight, and hail is the main concern for an open bike. Flexible dates matter most then.
Winter has its own risks. Winter storms can leave I-40 and I-44 slick. During a January 2026 storm, the state transportation department asked drivers to stay off the interstates while crews treated them. Summer is hot, and a black seat on an open trailer can burn, so a cover or enclosed shipping is worth pricing.
Fall is a good time to book, and it suits the Route 66 and Talimena rides too.
Route 66, the Talimena Drive and Why Riders Ship Here
The draw here is the road more than any event. Route 66 enters from Texas near Texola and leaves into Kansas, with Oklahoma City and Tulsa in between. You can ship a bike to one end, ride the length, and ship it home from the other.
The Talimena Scenic Drive is the other draw. It is a 54-mile ridge road through the Ouachita National Forest, opened in 1969, with grades that bring riders back for the curves. It runs from Talihina in Oklahoma to Mena in Arkansas.
If you plan a one-way trip, ask carriers about delivery to a motel or storage lot near your finish point. A short Oklahoma to Arkansas run is the lane to price if you ship to one end of the drive and ride to the other.
Military Moves to Fort Sill, Tinker, Vance and Altus
Fort Sill next to Lawton, Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Vance Air Force Base in Enid and Altus Air Force Base in Altus all bring in new arrivals every year. Orders can leave little time, so request quotes as soon as you have a report date. Ask each carrier whether it offers a military discount.
Oklahoma Motorcycle Shipping Challenges and Tips
Weather causes most of the delays. A few habits cut the risk.
Tornado and Hail Season
Storm lines from April through June can hold trucks overnight and put hail on an open trailer. Keep dates loose.
Winter Ice
Winter storms can leave I-40 and I-44 slick, and drivers may wait until crews have treated the roads.
Mountain and Back-Road Addresses
Roads in the Ouachitas and in rural areas can be too steep or tight for a rig. Expect to meet the driver on a highway.
Tip: Say If You Are in Lawton
Lawton is off the Oklahoma City to Dallas path. Mention it when you request quotes so the carrier plans the leg.
Tip: Price Enclosed in April and May
For a new or custom bike, compare open and enclosed quotes before storm season. Hail is a real risk on an open trailer.
Tip: Clear the Bike
Remove loose bags and accessories, and photograph all sides with the date. The prep checklist covers the rest.
Oklahoma Motorcycle Shipping FAQs
How much does it cost to ship a motorcycle to Oklahoma?
A trip of about 750 miles runs about $450 to $600 on an open trailer, and a run of about 1,500 miles is about $600 to $850. Enclosed adds roughly 40%, and the final number depends on dates and carrier.
How long does it take to ship a bike from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City?
The haul is well over 1,000 miles and typically takes 3 to 6 days on the road. Add one to three days for scheduling the pickup.
Can I ship a motorcycle to Lawton?
Yes. Lawton is on I-44 southwest of Oklahoma City, near Fort Sill. Name the city when you request quotes so the carrier plans the extra leg.
Do tornadoes affect shipping?
They can. Storm season runs mostly April through June, and trucks may sit out a line of severe weather. Leave a few days of flexibility in spring.
Should I use open or enclosed in Oklahoma?
Open suits most bikes. Enclosed is worth pricing for a new, custom or freshly painted bike, especially in spring when hail is possible.
Can I ship a bike to ride Route 66?
Yes. Route 66 in Oklahoma runs about 375 miles. Many riders ship to one end and home from the other. Ask carriers if they will deliver to a lot near your finish point.
Can a carrier get to the Talimena Scenic Drive area?
Not on the drive itself. It is a steep two-lane ridge road. Ask the carrier about delivering to a town in the valley, such as Talihina, which sits at the western end of the drive, and ride from there.
Do I have to be home at pickup and delivery?
You or an adult you name must sign the condition report. The driver will not hand over a bike without someone to inspect it, so pick a window you can keep.
