Arkansas Motorcycle Shipping

Arkansas gets two kinds of motorcycle traffic: bikes passing through on I-40, and bikes that come to stay and ride the Ozarks. We provide up to ten free quotes from our network of licensed, insured carriers, which saves you time and money. The second group is bigger than most people expect, because the Pig Trail, Highway 7 and the rest of the Ozark roads draw riders from well outside the state. If you need to ship a motorcycle to or from Arkansas, you could be sending a bike to a cabin near Eureka Springs, a retirement place on Lake Hamilton or a new job in Little Rock, and Arkansas motorcycle shipping follows the same rule in every case: the closer you are to I-40, I-30 or I-49, the easier it is to book. Prices on this page are estimates. Fill in the quote form above or phone 1-800-590-6492, answered day and night.

Ship a Motorcycle to Arkansas: Little Rock, the Ozarks or the Delta

Pick the part of the state first. Little Rock sits where I-30 ends against I-40 in North Little Rock, and it is the one city in Arkansas where several big lanes meet, so a bike headed there tends to draw offers quickly. The northeast corner around Jonesboro is closer to Memphis than to anywhere else big, and Memphis is about 140 miles from Little Rock.

Northwest Arkansas is its own market. Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville line up along I-49, which runs through all four, and the whole stretch behaves like one big city for shipping purposes. Fort Smith is a different story. It is on the Oklahoma line, and I-49 does not reach it yet.

Ozark addresses need more care. Roads in the hills are narrow, steep and curvy, and an 18-wheeler may not be able to make the last few turns to a cabin or a ridge-top house. Name a town square or a store lot in the valley, like Ozark, Huntsville or Jasper, and the driver can plan around it. If the last stretch is truly bad, a friend with a pickup can shuttle the bike the final mile.

Shipping in from out of state? Texas to Arkansas is the biggest lane, followed by Illinois to Arkansas and California to Arkansas.

Arkansas Motorcycle Shipping Rates and Transit Times

Last updated: October 2026

Most Arkansas shipments fall in the middle of the price range. A standard bike on an open trailer runs about $350 to $475 for 315 miles, like Little Rock to Dallas, and about $425 to $575 for 655 miles, like Fayetteville to Chicago. At 1,500 miles it is about $600 to $850, with 4 to 8 days on the road. Distance helps you, since a long haul costs less per mile than a short one.

An enclosed trailer adds 30% to 50%. A crate costs $150 to $400 more, a trike or sidecar $150 to $300 more and a heavy tourer about $50 to $100. Rally weeks and the October fall-color rush can push prices higher again in Northwest Arkansas. Every row below is an open-trailer estimate for a standard bike, with days counted from pickup. Add one to three days for scheduling.

How Getting Quotes Works

You don't have to call company after company. One request goes out to the carriers that run Arkansas lanes, and the offers come back to you.

1. Send one request

Fill out the quote form at the top of this page, or call 1-800-590-6492 any hour of the day. Give us your pickup and delivery cities, the year, make and model of your bike, and the date you want it picked up.

2. Carriers respond

We pass your request to carriers that move motorcycles in and out of Arkansas. You can receive up to ten free quotes without spending hours calling companies one by one.

3. Compare the offers

Look at price, pickup date, and whether the carrier offers open or enclosed transport. You can check any company you're considering on the FMCSA SAFER system.

4. Choose your company

You pick the company you want to work with. Ask that company about its insurance coverage, deposit, and payment terms before you commit.

Shipping a Motorcycle From Arkansas, Lane by Lane

Coming out of Little Rock, Dallas is the lane people ask about most. It is about 315 miles on I-30, and a standard bike on an open trailer runs about $350 to $475 with 1 to 3 days on the road. Memphis, at 140 miles up I-40, is cheaper still at $300 to $425. On a longer haul to Los Angeles, about 1,680 miles, you are looking at roughly $650 to $900 and 4 to 8 days.

Northwest Arkansas leans north. Fayetteville to Chicago is about 655 miles, around $425 to $575 and 2 to 5 days, and Kansas City is a short haul north. Check the Arkansas to Illinois page for that lane.

Fort Smith is the one to plan ahead. A bike there headed for Denver, about 800 miles, runs about $450 to $625 over 2 to 5 days. Give carriers a week's window.

Moving a bike to Florida for the winter? Carriers fill up in October and November, so ask early.

Arkansas Motorcycle Transport on I-40, I-30 and I-49

I-40 is the spine. It runs 285 miles through the state, from Dora and Van Buren near the Oklahoma line past Russellville, Conway and North Little Rock to West Memphis. From there the Hernando de Soto Bridge carries it across the Mississippi into Tennessee. I-40 and I-55 share about three miles there before the bridge.

I-49 is the newer road. The northern piece runs from I-40 near Alma to the Missouri line, and it was finished to the border in October 2021. It goes through the Bobby Hopper Tunnel. A separate piece runs from Texarkana to Louisiana, and the road between Texarkana and Alma, including the stretch around Fort Smith, is not finished. A driver going from Little Rock to Fayetteville still uses I-40 and then turns north near Alma.

I-30 is the Dallas road. It starts in North Little Rock and runs southwest through Texarkana, and a lot of Texas traffic uses it.

Rural pickups wait for a trailer on those routes. A town off the interstate in the Delta or the hills may need an extra day.

Why Riders Ship Bikes to the Arkansas Ozarks

The Pig Trail Scenic Byway is the road people name first. The byway follows Highway 23 through Ozark National Forest, between Highway 16 at Brashears and I-40 north of Ozark, with steep hills and hairpin turns. Highway 23 itself runs nearly 134 miles, from US 71 near Elm Park to the Missouri line.

Highway 7 is longer. Arkansas Scenic 7 stretches 297 miles from the Louisiana line to Diamond City, the longest state highway in Arkansas, passing Hot Springs, Jasper and Harrison.

Some riders ship the bike to Fayetteville or Hot Springs, fly in and spend a week on these roads. If that is you, book the return leg at the same time. Asking for both quotes together is easier than hunting for a driver on the way home.

Motorcycle Shipping to Arkansas by Season

October is the month the hills fill with riders, since fall color peaks in the Ozarks. Trailers headed for Fayetteville and Hot Springs get scarce, and quotes come in higher. Book two weeks ahead and you will avoid most of it.

Spring brings storms. Severe weather can cross the state quickly and hold drivers at a truck stop for a night. Winter is the other risk, since ice in the hills can slow or stop a driver for a day. If your bike is in the Ozarks in January, expect the schedule to slip.

Summer is hot and humid, especially in the Delta. A bike on an open trailer takes that without harm, though a dark seat gets too hot to sit on. Fall and winter quotes outside the snowbird lanes tend to be lower, which is a reason to move a bike in November if you can wait.

Bikes, Blues and BBQ and Other Arkansas Rally Weeks

Bikes, Blues & BBQ is the state's big rally. It takes over Northwest Arkansas from late September into early October, centered on downtown Rogers, with live music, scheduled rides and vendors. Check where the main events are before you book a drop, because Rogers is the hub and not Fayetteville.

Carriers fill their trailers for rally week well ahead. Ask for quotes at least three weeks before, and expect higher prices than normal on lanes into the northwest.

The rally is also a good excuse to look at a longer ride. Riders from the Ozarks who head to Sturgis in August often ship one way and ride the other.

Little Rock Air Force Base and Military Moves

Little Rock Air Force Base is in Jacksonville, about 17 miles northeast of Little Rock, and it is the Defense Department's main C-130 training base. Students from every branch cycle through, so there is a steady flow of people who need a bike moved in or out on a short timeline. If that is you, ask for quotes as soon as you have orders, and ask each carrier whether it offers a military discount.

Arkansas Motorcycle Shipping Challenges and Tips

Hills and storm season account for most of the trouble. A little planning helps with both.

Mountain Roads

The last few miles to an Ozark cabin can be too steep or tight for a tractor-trailer. Plan to meet the driver in a nearby town.

Fall Rush

October brings riders to the hills and snowbird bikes heading south. Open trailers fill up and prices rise.

Spring Storms

Severe weather can pause a driver for a night or more, so a firm delivery hour is not realistic in March through May.

Tip: Pick the Valley Town

If you live in the hills, name the closest sizable town on a main highway as your handoff spot. It makes quotes easier to compare.

Tip: Book Both Directions for a Ride Trip

Shipping a bike to Fayetteville or Hot Springs for a week of Ozark riding? Ask for the return quote while you are requesting the first one, so the dates are settled before you leave.

Tip: Remove the Extras

Pull bags, GPS and phone mounts, leave about a quarter tank, and photograph every side. The prep checklist has the rest.

Arkansas Motorcycle Shipping FAQs

What is the cost to ship a motorcycle to Arkansas?

It depends on distance. Little Rock to Dallas, about 315 miles, is roughly $350 to $475 open. Fayetteville to Chicago, about 655 miles, is roughly $425 to $575. Enclosed adds roughly 40%, and rally weeks can add more.

How long does it take to ship a motorcycle from Texas to Arkansas?

Dallas to Little Rock is about 315 miles and takes 1 to 3 days on the road. Pickup scheduling can add a day or two, so figure on three to five days from first call.

Can carriers deliver to the Ozarks?

Usually to the nearest town, yes. Mountain roads can be too tight for a full-size trailer, so expect to meet at a lot in Fayetteville, Ozark, Harrison or another town on a main highway.

Is I-49 finished through Arkansas?

Not as one road. The northern piece from Alma to Missouri and the southern piece from Texarkana to Louisiana are open, but the stretch between Texarkana and Alma, including the part around Fort Smith, is not finished. Drivers use other highways to bridge the gap.

Can I ship a bike to Northwest Arkansas for Bikes, Blues and BBQ?

Yes, though the rally is centered in downtown Rogers, so most riders ask for a drop there or nearby. Check with the organizers or a hotel where you will stay, then request quotes three weeks ahead.

Is there a good time of year to ship to Arkansas?

Late fall and winter are often cheaper, apart from snowbird lanes. October is the busy month for the Ozarks, and spring storms can delay drivers, so build in slack from March to May.

Can I ship a motorcycle to Hot Springs?

Yes. Hot Springs sits on Highway 7 in the Ouachita hills. Name the city when you ask for quotes so each driver can plan for the last stretch off the interstate.

What if my bike is a trike or has a sidecar?

Say so up front. Trikes and sidecar rigs usually cost about $150 to $300 more and need a carrier with the right trailer. Tell each dispatcher before you accept a quote.
